A question is asked and everyone writes a number. Then the real decision comes: you place your chip on whoever you think wrote the closest answer. You do not need to know the answer — you need to know who would know it.
In most trivia games the player who does not know is out of the game. Here they still have a job: read the table. That is why it works in groups with mixed knowledge.
